MP1, MP2 and MP3: Language Day 2025
While many of our students were travelling across Europe, the lower classes of the MYP stayed local during Travel Week. One of the projects they participated in was Language Day.
On Tuesday, MP3 did the Movie Project. The students were divided in four groups and watched different movies. At the end of the day, each group gave a presentation focusing on the cultural and linguistic aspects of the movie. Many of them mentioned that analyzing a movie was a nice way to create more cultural and language awareness, not only in “the greater world” but also in their own classes. A big challenge for them was giving the presentation in PechaKucha format, but they did really well!
MP1 and MP2 joined for Language Day on Friday. MP2 started working on a language presentation, focusing on spelling and pronunciation of words related to school. In groups, they also made posters with words in five different languages, which were presented at the end of the day. These posters are displayed in the Media Centre and you are all invited to come and have a look at them; they are beautiful.
MP1 started their day with the completion of their language profile (did you know that all together, they practice 21 different languages in some way?!). After this, they competed in fun games that exposed them to different languages. The Music Bingo and ice cream made the day come to an end.
A big Thank You to Claudia, Marlon and Ingrid for organizing the events, as well as to all the other teachers helping out during the days!
